The UC Davis Medical Center plans on extending its onsite testing for COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, after successfully treating three patients, hospital authorities said Wednesday.

In a news release, authorities with UC Davis Health said they would like to run coronavirus testing inside the hospital in the next barely any weeks to ease the pressure off other testing labs.

It is growing its testing as a team with Sacramento County Public Health and other public health agencies, authorities said.

Authorities with UC Davis health said that in spite of the fact that they have seen three patients with coronavirus, none of their health care providers have gotten the disease. All patients are recuperating and keep on improving.

Subsequent to studying the patients, authorities said COVID-19 seems to be a “droplet-spread infectious disease,” which is not quite the same as an airborne transmissible disease that is significantly more contagious.

COVID-19 is spread like the cold or influenza, so individuals are urged to wash their hands regularly, abstain from contacting their face and keep away from close contact with individuals who are sick.
